Pauline Sacks, M.D., M.S.W.
General Adult Psychiatry
Dr. Sacks completed both medical school and residency at the University of California, Irvine. At UCI she focused on treating a broad range of psychiatric and mood disorders through both medication management and therapy. Her training includes group counseling, post-traumatic stress disorder treatment, marital counseling, substance abuse treatment, eating disorder treatment, and care for other specialized disorders.
Dr. Sacks is also a social worker, having received her Master of Social Work Degree from Tulane University in 1998. She has extensive experience in emergency mental health services, community mental health, and trauma social work. Her experience as a social worker complements her medical training and gives her unique perspective into the social and familial consequences of psychiatric illness.
Dr. Sacks has worked at medical facilities including San Francisco General Hospital, Long Beach VA Hospital, UCI Medical Center, Kaiser Permanente, Depaul Tulane Hospital (New Orleans), and Boulder Community Hospital (Colorado). Her areas of expertise include:
